Rules for Dogs and Cats

  • All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age or older.
  • They must have had two DHPP vaccines and one Bordetella vaccine administered by a Veterinarian to enter the facility
  • All dogs must be spayed or neutered by 7 months to play with other dogs. We still accept dogs that have not been spayed or neutered for boarding.
  • All dogs must have up to date vaccinations and must be given by licensed veterinary. Owners must show written proof of vaccinations including Rabies for puppies over 4 months of age. DHLPP (distemper) given annually and Bordetella (kennel cough) given at least once a year. However, we do recommend Bordetella be given every 6 months. WE RECOMMEND THE INTRANASAL BORDETELLA.
  • Without proof of vaccinations, the canine will not be allowed to play or stay at Ruffledale until proof is obtained.
  • All dogs must be in good health. Owners must certify that the canine has not had any communicable condition in the previous thirty days. Any dog that has had a communicable condition, needs a veterinarian certication of health to be able to attend Ruffledale.
  • All dogs must be non-aggressive towards other dogs or humans and not food or toy protective. All dogs will require to pass a temperament evaluation. Safety of all the dogs and employees is essential. All owners must certify that their canine has not harmed a canine or human in the past.
  • All dogs must not be able to jump a 5’6” fence.
  • All dogs must have a soft collar, no choke collars allowed.
  • All cats must be at least 12 weeks old and have had two sets of vaccines.
  • All cats must have up to date vaccinations and be given by a licensed veterinarian. Proof of vaccinations, including Rabies, Cat Distemper Combo and Leukemia are required.
  • We recommend all dogs to be treated with a lice preventive monthly, but do not require this at this time.
